Phillip A. Singleton, known as "The Hip Hop Lobbyist," is a best-selling author, TEDx speaker, and respected political strategist. In 2010, at just 24, Phillip became the youngest African-American lobbyist in Florida’s history, launching a trailblazing career in government affairs and policy advocacy.
Throughout his career, Phillip has been instrumental in advancing key legislation in Florida. His work includes securing the expansion of Major League Soccer in Florida (Orlando City Soccer Club), obtaining additional accreditation resources for Florida State University and Florida A&M University, and driving campaign and election reforms. He has also played a vital role in securing millions of dollars in funding for at-risk youth programs and economic development initiatives.
In recognition of his leadership and impact, Phillip was honored by the Florida Conference of Black State Legislators as an Emerging Leader in politics. He has also received accolades from 850 Business Magazine (Top 40 Under 40), the Network of Young Professionals (Top 20 Under 40), and FloridaPolitics.com (Top 30 Under 30). Black Enterprise Magazine named him one of the Top 100 BE Modern Men for his significant contributions to state and federal politics.
From 2018 to 2021, Phillip served as Senior Advisor to former U.S. Representative Al Lawson (FL), where he continued his work shaping impactful government policies.
Phillip is a proud alumnus of Florida A&M University and resides in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife, Jalencia, and son, Douglas.
